Susan G. Komen’s Connected for the Cure Virtual Reality

 
 

BRIEF

Susan G. Komen of Greater Kansas City approached our team to ideate on how to engage and encourage people to be screened for breast cancer.

Ultimately, we concepted a first-person, virtual reality experience using the actual stories, families, homes and voices of local breast cancer survivors. Using a headset and binaural audio, we were able to place event attendees into the real lives of the survivors, as they told their stories. And to include a wider audience, we even translated this experience into an app for users that included gamification to educate through quizzes, engage with a 180 degree self-initiated panning version of the survivor stories, and even prompt scheduling a screening.
